"Still shouldn’t have left, we were already in the middle of this one.."

The scowl didn’t fade from his face for a second when you explained to him why you left for so long. He knows how you could be, taking up every job you could but that didn’t mean you could have /atleast/ given him a heads up first.

Finally giving in, too tired to pick a fight, he sighed heavily, leaning back against the booth he was in and crossed his arms, recalling everything he’s memorized from the case so far. Which, was quite a lot actually, he has been looking this stuff over for three hours now after all.

"But yes…all the victims were taken from the woods, there’s been 3 so far and they were all females in their mid 20’s. 2 of the 3 were alone so there was no witnesses of the attacks themselves, only the rangers found the corpses the next day except our third victim."

He speaks, filling you in on what he’s learned so far.

"The third victim was spending a romantic getaway with her husband in one of the cabins up near the lake. In the statement the husband claimed his wife left for a little early morning nature walk and when she didn’t come back he grew worried, and that’s when he found her body about a few miles away from the cabin, her chest appearing as if it had been, and I quote, clawed open by a rabid bear"

As he explained he pulled out pictures from the folder, showing you not only a picture of the third victim, but the two previous ones as well.

"I was sure it was a werewolf, but the autopsy mentioned nothing about the hearts being missing. But, even if I’m not sure of what we’re tracking here, I managed to find a pattern— Like I mentioned all the victims were Female, in their mid 20’s and the attacks each happened 3 days apart just before sunrise."

Once he finished up, he took a big sip of his coffee, making a face at the fact it had grown cold from sitting there for so long.

"So I don’t know about you, but I’m stumped."

❝ Well I heard about that before this case alright? ❞

She snaked her fingers to the back of her neck  to scratch a small patch of skin as she allowed her eyes roam the area avoiding his. She had his number on one of her many disposable phones but as habit has it– she decided not to bother him.

Listening closely to the other male as the waitress came around with a cup and pot of coffee, continuing to pour out some on to the cup. Her eyes caught the waitress and a sign of distress was concealed on her face.  Thinking quickly on her feet she lets out small chuckle enough for her to hear.

❝ Eh thanks– uhm he's practicing his line, a bit of a theater nerd..❞

A small sign of relief was on present on her face  before walking away but she knew she still had her doubts. Taking a sip of the hot coffee helped her wake up a little as she started to rack her brain of ideas to what the creature  was. Looking around the place once again to see if anybody was within sight of the folder before taking the photos of the gruesome murder.

❝ Well what ever this thing was it was hungry– he could always just do to drive thru.. ❞

Slipping the pictures back into the folder before flipping the folder close. Resting her elbows on the table as she leaned in as she chuckled from her own words; impress by the amount of information he was able to accumulate.

❝ Well what do we know that only eats women at their mid-20s?? That a pretty specific meal plan.. ❞

Letting out a huff a small huff as she tried to think of anything close to the creature but like him she came out blank.

❝ We need more info about the victims uppie..  Time to make some house calls. ❞
